Integrated
Rural Development Centre is a secular non-profit organisation started by a
group of concurring youth hailing from rural areas of Tamil Nadu in 1987,
with the aim of holistic development of underprivileged weaker section.
The vision of IRDC is an egalitarian society, free from oppression,
violence, exploitation and injustice, irrespective of caste, creed and
gender. IRDC believes the vision can be realised through integrated
development approach that ensures peoples participation and
eco-environmental balance.
Objectives of IRDC
are:
- to render effective support
to the deserving children, women and disabled and the
poorest.
- to generate awareness and
organise the marginalised and empowering them to be self reliant.

to rehabilitate the victims of
unjust socio-economic and physical environment through
sustainable
means of rehabilitation and
development.

to promote cooperation among
poor and oppressed towards socio-economic and environment development.
- to promote small savings,
rural credit towards co-operatives.
- to impart skill through
training and non-formal education for socio-economic empowerment.
IRDC is registered as a public trust, with
adherence to all legal requisites to carry out development activities in
India. It is managed by a committed Board of Trustees who are sensitive to
the sufferings of the weaker section, and have grass root experience in
running development programmes. The Board of Trustees is supported by a
team of professionally trained and dedicated staff, many hailing from the
local rural villages itself. |
